This series consists of an access copy of the police file relating to the identification of deceased persons after Cyclone Tracy. The complete file located in NTRS 3001/P1 Item 2 has been restricted due to the sensitive nature of the forensic information contained in the file. This copy was created by NT Police to provide access to information about the victims of Cyclone Tracy, with forensic information removed or redacted to allow public access. File contains annotated lists of the deceased and missing persons correspondence with the names of persons who remained missing in 1983, 7 years since the persons went missing in 1974. The file also includes an Order of Service for the Uniting Church ceremony held on 2 February 1975 in memory of those who died as a result of Cyclone Tracy. Care and discretion should be used when viewing this record as it contains descriptions of people who have died. The file may contain references to Aboriginal people who have died, which may cause sadness and distress to their relatives. No offence has been intended by making this record available.
